2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake is Wagon Our Way in a Few Short Months

It took thirty years, but Jaguar has finally answered the prayers of wagon fans. This winter, the new XF Sportbrake will be offered in American showrooms for the first time. While it may not have the F-PACE’s high ride height, its cargo-hauling abilities crossed with its sport sedan driving character make it quite enticing. While not off-road capable, its blend of performance and utility are a solid match for those who need space and thrills, but not ride height.

Based on the XF sedan, the Sportbrake’s inner mechanicals have been reconfigured for its wagon mission. Under the hood, it will house a supercharged V6 with 380 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, which will send power to a rear-biased AWD system by way of a ZF eight-speed automatic. That will lead to an impressive 5.3-second sprint to sixty, but performance is just one facet of this estate. Behind the standard hands-free operated tailgate, a maximum 70 cu-ft of cargo volume awaits. That same lift gate can be toggled for lower-ceiling garages, and there’s additional cargo capacity on the roof.

The impressive performance of the XF Sportbrake is difficult to under-estate. But if a wagon with cat-like reflexes is on your wishlist, our Jaguar dealership in El Paso, TX would be happy to set you up for a test drive when it comes in next winter.
