Jaguar Presents Iron Maiden Drummer with Custom Refurbished XJ6

For many drivers, their first Jaguar car transforms them into a Jaguar driver for life. There's no better example of this than Nicko McBrain. The drummer for Iron Maiden, McBrain bought his first Jaguar in 1987 and has remained a fan of the brand ever since. In the intervening decades, he's bought many more Jaguars, including several custom jobs. Most recently, this meant a custom refurbishment of the classic 1984 Jaguar XJ6.

The engineers at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works spent more than 3,500 hours remodeling and refurbishing the XJ6 for McBrain. Their work involved a refinishing, replacing, and redesigning more than 4,000 parts. They also made some extensive modifications to the car's exterior chassis, its interior trim and controls, and its suspension. The overall redesign incorporated a bevy of different elements drawn from more than fifty years of Jaguar cars.

"This is my ultimate XJ," said McBrain, commenting on the finished car. "It has been a true labor of love between Jaguar Classic and myself. I’m so excited by its completion... it really is a Greatest Hits edition and to me it defines what the Jaguar XJ is all about. It’s a credit to the craftsmanship of the Jaguar Classic team."
